AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3266, THE  EMPLOYEE MANUAL FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK

Body

WHEREAS, effective village administration requires the availability of sound and well- publicized personnel policies and practices; and

 

WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Orland Park have previously adopted Ordinance No. 3266, establishing a personnel administration policy for the Village; and

 

WHEREAS, the Village periodically reviews its existing policies and when appropriate adopts new policies.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, as follows:

 

SECTION 1

 

That document entitled "Village of Orland Park Employee Manual," to be updated as of this date see Exhibit A, describing the personnel policies and practices of the Village, is hereby amended.

 

SECTION 2

 

The Village of Orland Park Employee Manual herein adopted is not intended to nor shall it be considered as creating any contractual rights between employees and the Village, but shall operate solely as described therein and on the terms thereof as a reference tool to inform employees about Village policies procedures and employee benefits.

 

SECTION 3

 

The Village retains the right to modify, amend or repeal the Employee Manual at any time without prior notice.  The Village Manager is has been granted the power to modify or amend the Employee Manual as he or she deems necessary or desirable from time to time, with the advice and consent of the Corporate Authorities.

 

SECTION 4

 

In the event that a court of competent jurisdiction finds any part or section or provision of the Employee Manual to be invalid for any reason, said determination shall affect only the specific part, section or provision and shall not be deemed to affect the remainder of the Employee Manual.

 

SECTION 5

 

All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance or with the provisions of the Employee Manual hereby amended are repealed except as stated in the Employee Manual.  Ordinance No. 3266 is hereby specifically amended.

 

SECTION 6

 

This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
