AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORLAND PARK VILLAGE CODE (BOARD COMMITTEES)
History
Several Board Committee names are being changed which requires an amendment to the Village Code.
The new Committee names will be as follows:
Public Safety Committee
Community Events & Outreach
Public Works & Engineering
Development Services & Planning
Recreation
Finance
The new Public Safety Committee will cover police, homeland security, emergency preparedness and building a better relationship with the Fire District.
The new Community Events and Outreach Committee will deal with all of our special events. The coordination of resources, schedules, sponsors etc. between departments on our numerous events and community programs has become very important. The input of this committee will also be required on our village website as it relates to informing the public on all activities.

I move to pass Ordinance Number 4267 entitled: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORLAND PARK VILLAGE CODE (BOARD COMMITTEES)
Body
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of Orland Park deem it in the best interests of the Village and it residents to amend the Orland Park Village Code with regard to Board Committees and meetings;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1
That Section 1-5-7-14 of the Village Code shall be and hereby is amended to delete the list of six committees therein and substitute the following list:
Public Safety Committee
Community Events & Outreach
Public Works & Engineering
Development Services & Planning
Recreation
Finance
All other portions of Section 1-5-7-14 shall remain unchanged.
SECTION 2
That Section 1-5-7-14-1 of the Village Code shall be and hereby is amended to provide that the following committees shall meet on the second Monday of each month:
Public Safety Committee
Community Events & Outreach
Public Works and Engineering
and the following committees shall meet on the fourth Monday of each month:
Development Services & Planning
Recreation
Finance
All other portions of Section 1-5-7-14-1 shall remain unchanged.
SECTION 3
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as required by law.
