One Ton Dump Trucks - Purchase
History
The 2007/2008 Fiscal Year Budget has a Board approved line item for the purchase of a replacement One Ton Dump Truck equipped with a plow and spreader for the Parks Department. This truck will replace a 1997 Ford F450 Pickup Truck with 77,000 miles. There is also a Board approved line item for the purchase of a new One Ton Dump Truck equipped with a plow and spreader for the maintenance of the new Metra Station Parking Lots. This truck will also be assigned to the Parks Department. Both trucks will have identical specifications.
This year, the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative has granted a one-year extension for its contract with Currie Motors Frankfort of Frankfort, Illinois, to supply a One Ton Ford F-450 Cab and Chassis to local governments. The contract includes pricing for dump bodies, plows, spreaders and other equipment to up-fit a cab and chassis for municipal use.
The cost of a 2008 Ford F-450 Cab and Chassis equipped with a dump body, plow and spreader from Currie Motors is $44,162 each. The total cost for both trucks is $88,324. The chassis and equipment specifications are consistent with the equipment the Village currently purchases.
On January 14, 2008, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Works and Engineering Committee and referred to the Board for approval.

Financial Impact
There is $55,000 in Account #010-5006-431.70-20 for the purchase of the replacement one ton dump truck. There is $52,000 in the Commuter Parking Lot Budget Account #026-0000-498.70-20 for the purchase of the new Metra Parking Lot maintenance truck. Both trucks are under budget in their accounts.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve authorizing the purchase of a replacement One (1) Ton 2008 Ford F-450 Cab and Chassis equipped with a dump body, plow and spreader for the Parks Department from Currie Motors Frankfort of Frankfort, Illinois, through the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative Bid Contract for a price not to exceed $44,162;
And
Approve authorizing the purchase of a One (1) Ton 2008 Ford F-450 Cab and Chassis equipped with a dump body, plow and spreader for the Parks Department for the maintenance of the new Metra Station Parking Lots from Currie Motors Frankfort of Frankfort, Illinois, through the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative Bid Contract for a price not to exceed $44,162.
