Disposal of Old Police Bicycles - Recommended Ordinance
History
The police department is requesting the disposal of six police mountain bicycles through PropertyRoom.com that are no longer in service due to their age and dismantled condition. Some have been used for spare parts for other bikes.
Financial Impact
Funds received for the sale of the bikes will be deposited into the general fund.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to recommend to the Village Board to pass an Ordinance entitled:
ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL OF UNUSABLE MUNICIPAL PROPERTY AS SCRAP (BICYCLE PATROL UNIT EQUIPMENT - BICYCLES)
Body
WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois (the “Village”) is an Illinois home rule municipality; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village have determined that the bicycles described in Section 2, below, are no longer necessary or useful to the Village as the same are irreparable; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities have determined to discard as scrap the said bicycles as the same are inoperable and parts have been removed therefrom for use on newer bicycles.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Ordained by the President and Board of Trustees, Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, in the exercise of the Village’s home rule powers, as follows:
SECTION 1
The above preambles are hereby incorporated into this Section as fully as if restated in their entirety herein.
SECTION 2
The disposal as scrap of the following bicycles which are no longer necessary or useful to the Village of Orland Park is hereby approved:

SECTION 3
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and approval as provided by law.
