AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 5, CHAPTER 2 OF THE ORLAND PARK VILLAGE CODE (ELEVATOR FEES)
Body
WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will counties, Illinois, an Illinois home rule municipality, in the interests of public safety, inspects or causes the inspection of all elevators, escalators and dumbwaiters within the Village, as a part of plan review before installation, at installation and after installation on a semi-annual basis; and
WHEREAS, the Village has determined that it is appropriate to increase the fees charged for elevator, escalator and dumbwaiter inspections, including late payment fees, said fees having been unchanged for several years while the cost to the Village for said inspections has risen.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1
The Orland Park Village Code, Title 5, Building, Chapter 2, Fees, Subsection 5-2-7-10 Miscellaneous Fees, is hereby amended in sub-part c, Elevators, Escalators and Dumbwaiters, to delete the existing language in its entirety and substitute the following:
“c. Elevators, Escalators and Dumbwaiters Fees:
1. A review of Shop Drawing plans and specifications for each new elevator, escalator, dumbwaiter or similar device shall be One Hundred and Ten Dollars ($110.00) per device.
a. Review of Architectural Drawings when required One Hundred and Ten Dollars ($110.00).
2. The inspection of each new device shall be One Hundred and Ten Dollars ($110.00).
3. Semi-annual and/or any reinspection of a device shall be Fifty-five Dollars ($55.00).
4. Pressure test witnessing by a qualified elevator inspector shall be Eighty-five ($85.00).
5. Certificates of Compliance when required Ten Dollars ($10.00) per unit.
6. Other inspection services not listed in this subsection, shall be charged the rate as noted in item “o” of this subsection.
7. If the fees specified above are not paid within thirty (30) days of the Village issuance of an invoice for the services performed, a late fee of Seventy-five Dollars ($75.00) shall be added to the amount due. If the fees are not paid within forty-five (45) days of issuance of the invoice, a late fee of One Hundred Twenty-five Dollars ($125.00) shall be added.”
SECTION 2
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed insofar as they conflict herewith.
SECTION 3
This Ordinance shall become and be effective immediately upon its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law. It is ordered that publication of this Ordinance be made by duplicating thereof in pamphlet form, said pamphlets to be deposited in the office of the Village Clerk of the Village of Orland Park for general circulation.
