AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7, CHAPTER 7, SECTION 7-7-7-3 OF THE ORLAND PARK VILLAGE CODE (HOTEL OPERATOR’S ACCOMMODATIONS TAX; TAX IMPOSED)
Body
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park (the “Village”) have the authority to adopt ordinances and to promulgate rules and regulations that pertain to its government and affairs and to protect the public health, safety and welfare of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Village deems it necessary and appropriate to increase its Hotel Operator’s Accommodations Tax rate; and
WHEREAS, it is determined that the Village Code amendment set forth below is in the best interests of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1
Title 7, Chapter 7, Section 7-7-7-3, of the Village Code is hereby amended to delete in its entirety the text of Section 7-7-7-3 and to substitute the following as new text for Section 7-7-7-3:
7-7-7-3: TAX IMPOSED:
There is hereby imposed and shall accrue, as set forth herein, and be collected a tax, as set forth herein, upon the rental, leasing, making, facilitating, or servicing the leasing or renting of any Hotel Accommodations at the rate of five percent (5%) of the gross rental or leasing charge.
SECTION 2
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
