Zamboni Repairs - Quote Award

History

We have received a quote for the repairs on the Zamboni.  This unit needs new batteries and charger.  In contrast, a new Zamboni purchase would cost between $45,000 and $60,000.  Staff recommends the repairs as outlined below.  The quote is from Enterprise Battery Corporation.  This includes 2 new Crown Batteries, 1 new Ferro Magnetics charger plus labor and travel for installation.  The cost is as follows:

2 new 40 volt batteries - $6,440.00

1 battery charger  -         $2,285.00

Labor and travel -           $   300.00

TOTAL:                          $9,025.00

Financial Impact

This money will come from the Parks Fund, 283-4003-451-4320 and 283-4003-451-7030

Recommended Action/Motion

I move to approve accepting the quote from Enterprise Battery Corporation for the repairs on the Zamboni at a cost not to exceed $9,025.00.
