AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 2512, ADOPTED JANUARY 17, 1994, AND CHANGING THE FISCAL YEAR OF THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK, COOK AND WILL COUNTIES, ILLINOIS

WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park has for many years operated under a fiscal year running from October 1 to September 30; and
WHEREAS, the Village has determined that it would be more convenient for it to operate under a fiscal year commencing on January 1 of each year, and running through December 31 of the same year; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Municipal Code provides that a municipality may establish its fiscal year by ordinance.
NOW THEREFORE, Be It Ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park as follows:
SECTION 1
The Fiscal Year of the Village of Orland Park shall be changed from October 1 to September 30 and established as January 1 to December 31, commencing with January 1, 2010.
SECTION 2
The fifteen-month period between October 1, 2007, and December 31, 2009, is hereby designated as an interim fiscal year.
SECTION 3
Ordinance Number 2512 and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed insofar as they conflict with this Ordinance.
SECTION 4
Title 1, Chapter 3, Section 1-3-2 (definition of “FISCAL YEAR”) of the Orland Park Village Code, is hereby amended to conform with this Ordinance.
SECTION 5
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
