History

During the FY 06/07 we started an initiative to equip all our police vehicles with digital video cameras.  During the budget process for FY 07/08 we obtained approval to complete this project with the purchase of 19 additional camera units.  The unit we previously selected during our evaluation is the Panasonic Arbitrator  The Arbitrator is sold through the State of Illinois Joint purchasing Contract by CDS Office Technologies.

At the 10-8-07 Police and Public Safety Committee Meeting the members voted 3-0 to recommend approval.

Financial Impact

$131,000.00 for this project is budgeted under 010-7002-421.70-30. 

Recommended Action/Motion

I move to approve the purchase of 19 additional Panasonic Arbitrator vehicle units, 19 Trinus WLS MIC Transmitter Lavalier Mic Batteries, and extended warranty through the State of Illinois Joint Purchasing Contract from CDS Office Technologies, 780 Belden Ave, Addison, Illinois at a price not to exceed $91,181.00
