Courier Service

History

The Finance Department recently requested proposals from Garda, Dunbar Armored, and Brinks for transportation of bank deposits.  The current yearly price quotes for courier services are:  Garda $8,989, Brinks $7,094 and Dunbar Armored $5,957. See the attached spreadsheet for service comparisons.

Based on the price quotes, staff recommends that we contract with Dunbar Armored for a one-year period from February 12, 2010 (when current contract with Garda expires) until February 11, 2011. 

On October 12, 2009, this item was reviewed and approved by the Finance Committee and referred to the Board for approval.

Financial Impact

This service will be included in the FY2010 budget at the revised cost.  The courier service is for the Sportsplex, Centennial Pool, and the Village Hall which is split between the Finance, Water, and Recreation budgets. 

Recommended Action/Motion

I move to approve Dunbar Armored for a one-year contract period effective February 12, 2010.
