Silver Star Banner Day - Proclamation
History
The Silver Star Families of America is dedicated to supporting, assisting, and advocating for the brave men and women who suffered wounds, injuries or illnesses that originated in a war zone. They are planning a Silver Star Banner Day on May 1, 2009. Their goal is to have 5,000 cities across America celebrate and honor our service men and women and their families. They are beginning the process early in an effort to achieve that goal.
Mayor McLaughlin will proclaim May 1, 2009 as Silver Star Banner Day in the Village of Orland Park.
