AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORLAND PARK VILLAGE CODE, TITLE 5, BUILDING, CHAPTER 4, PLUMBING CODE, TO ADOPT THE STATE OF ILLINOIS PLUMBING CODE AND TO MAKE CERTAIN OTHER AMENDMENTS TO THE PLUMBING CODE OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK (AMENDMENTS REGARDING PLUMBING REGULATIONS)

WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park is authorized by law to adopt codes by reference pursuant to Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILCS 5/1-3-2; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority provided by Section 1-3-2 of the Illinois Municipal Code, the Illinois Plumbing Licensing Law, (225 ILCS 320/0.01 et seq.), and the applicable provisions of the Illinois Administrative Code (68 IL Admin. Code 750.800), the President and Board of Trustees of the Village have determined that the Illinois Plumbing Code, as published by the Illinois Department of Public Health at 77 Ill. Admin. Code 890, and as amended from time to time (the “Illinois Plumbing Code”), best regulates and governs the plumbing standards to be maintained on all property, buildings and structures within the Village. It is expected that the adoption of the Illinois Plumbing Code shall aid in ensuring that plumbing facilities and the water they provide are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use. The adoption of the Illinois Plumbing Code is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the residents and business owners of the Village to adopt the Illinois Plumbing Code as the Plumbing Code of the Village; and

WHEREAS, a copy of this Ordinance has been on file with the Office of the Village Clerk for at least thirty (30) days prior to the approval date of this Ordinance and has, during that time, been available for public use, inspection, and examination.
