Best Buy Grant Award - Approval
History
On 10/15/12, the police department was awarded a $1,000.00 Best Buy Tag Team Award which recognized our partnership with Best Buy employees at our recent National Night Out event on August 7, 2012.
The event highlighted crime prevention and awareness and is attended by community groups from throughout Orland Park.
The department distributed numerous free items to attendees at the event to increase their awareness of safety. These funds will help us replenish and enhance the type of items we will distribute at future events.
On November 19, 2012, this item was reviewed approved by the Public Safety Committee and referred to the Village Board for approval.
Financial Impact
The police budget will be amended and increased by $1,000.00 for the grant award.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve to accept the Best Buy grant for $1,000.00;
and
To amend and increase line item #010-7002-484700 in the police budget by $1,000.00 to allow for the purchase of additional items for crime prevention and awareness events.
