History

The Village’s current occupational health provider has elected to utilize ChoicePoint which will provide for process efficiencies.  More importantly, there is uncertainty that our current provider will be able to continue to provide the appropriate level of service and we are looking to make the change quickly.

 

This is a professional service; therefore I request to waive bids and recommend that the Board approve that authorization be given to the Interim Village Manager to review and authorize a contract with ChoicePoint Business Services.   ChoicePoint has been providing comprehensive substance abuse program administration since 1991 completing roughly 5 million drug tests annually.   ChoicePoint will provide Medical Review Officer (MRO) services, administer the random testing program, and provide statistical record keeping.

Financial Impact

The estimated annual cost for this service is approximately $12,000 which is about $2,000 more than our current provider.  A budget adjustment of $2,000 is requested.

Recommended Action/Motion

I move to approve waiving bids, retaining ChoicePoint Business Services to provide professional services as the third party administrator of the Village’s drug and alcohol testing program;

 

And

 

Approve a budget adjustment in the amount of $2,000;

 

And

 

Approve authorizing the Interim Village Manager to execute a contract.
