LED Light Bars for New Police Vehicles - Purchase
History
The Police Department is requesting to purchase seven (7) Federal Signal Legend LED Light Bars to be installed on police vehicles. The Legend light bar features new LED reflector technology for a bright off-axis light output for 360-degree coverage and draws less energy from the vehicle's electrical system. The Police Department would like to purchase the light bars from the FY2010 budget line item #010-7002-421.60-45 Equipment. The current budget reflects the purchase of seven (7) light bars at $1,500.00 each for a total of $10,500.00. The cost of these bars is $1,250.00 each. The total cost of the purchase of seven (7) Federal Signal Legend LED Light Bars would be $8,750.00.
The Light Bars would be purchased from our current supplier Emergency Vehicle Technologies, LLC. 9910 W. 190th Street Mokena, IL 60448, Tel #: 708-479-6746.
On November 15, 2010, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Safety Committee and referred to the Board for approval.
Financial Impact
The purchase of seven (7) light bars will be taken from budget line item #010-7002-421.60-45 for a total cost of $8,750.00
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve the purchase of seven (7) Federal Signal Legend LED Light Bars at a cost of $1,250.00 each, for a total cost not to exceed $8,750.00.
