Colette Highlands - Park Station Boulevard Construction - Board Approval
History
In accordance with the agreement entered into between the Village of Orland Park and Colette Highlands LLC on August 12, 2003, the Village has agreed to fund the construction costs for the completion of 159th Street and Park Station Boulevard. On December 5, 2007, Edmund Burke Engineering Corp. received notice from I.D.O.T. approving the engineering plans and setting forth the permit process. As part of that process, the Village is required to have the contractor performing the work produce a Permit Bond.
In anticipation of finally receiving the permit from IDOT, the Public Works Department requested proposals from two construction companies to perform this work - Alpha Construction Company of Hazel Crest, Illinois and Central Blacktop Company of LaGrange, Illinois. Alpha Construction (who is completing the Neighborhood Road Program) submitted a proposal of $254,273.90 and Central Blacktop (the general contractor for the 108th Avenue Project) submitted a proposal of $227,680.00. Therefore, it is recommended that the proposal/contract from Central Blacktop in the amount of $227,680.00 be accepted.
On January 14, 2008, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Works and Engineering Committee and referred to the Board for approval.
Financial Impact
A budget adjustment will need to be made in the amount of $227,680 in Account #054-0000-499.71-25.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve a budget adjustment be made in the amount of $227,680;
And
Approve accepting the proposal/contract for the completion of the construction of 159th Street and Park Station Boulevard from Central Blacktop Co., Inc. of LaGrange, Illinois, for an amount not to exceed $227,680;
And
Approve authorizing the Acting Village Manager to execute the proposal/contract.
