NPDES Phase II Compliance - Board Approval
History
There is a Board approved line item for Professional Engineering Services related to compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II requirements. Christopher B. Burke Engineering Ltd. (CBBEL) has completed this report for the last four years. It is mandatory that the Village comply with the NPDES Phase II permit by implementing the Best Management Practices (BMPs) outlined in the Notice of Intent (NOI) submitted to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA). The IEPA also requires that NOI be renewed every five years. In 2003, CBBEL completed the last NOI. In March of this year, CBBEL resubmitted for permitting on behalf of the Village to extend through March of 2013.
Therefore, it is recommended that the attached invoice from CBBEL be approved.

A NEW COVER SHEET WILL BE PROVIDED WITH THE APPROPRIATE BOARD MOTION.
Financial Impact
Funds are available in Line Item 031-6007-433.32-80 in the amount of $9,000 for this work to be completed.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to recommend to the Board of Trustees to approve payment to Christopher B. Burke Engineering Ltd. of Rosemont, Illinois, for professional engineering services related to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II Compliance in an amount not to exceed $8,406.
