A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK REQUESTING THE ASSISTANCE AND PARTICIPATION OF THE ILLINOIS ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY IN IDENTIFYING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS ON A CERTAIN PROPERTY

 

Body

WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to promote the redevelopment of potential brownfield and/or underutilized lands within the Village of Orland Park; and

 

WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park believes the property located at 10500 W. 153rd Street and within the Village of Orland Park is currently a brownfield and in an underutilized state; and

 

WHEREAS, the redevelopment options for the property located within the Village of Orland Park cannot be fully determined until the environmental conditions on the property have been identified; and

 

WHEREAS, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency can assist the Village of Orland Park in identifying environmental conditions on the above mentioned property; and

 

WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to insure that any environmental conditions that may pose a threat to health or the environment are property addressed; and

 

WHEREAS, the identification of environmental conditions on the above mentioned property is critical to the future redevelopment of the property as a potential brownfield area; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK, COOK AND WILL COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, that:

 

The Village of Orland Park does hereby request the assistance and participation of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and resolves to assist them in any non-monetary manner that will provide for the timely and comprehensive environmental investigation of the property in order to seek Brownfield assistance to redevelop said parcel noted above.
