AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A HISTORIC MARKER PROGRAM FOR THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK AND APPROVING RULES, PROCEDURES AND DESIGN GUIDELINES
Body
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Orland Park desire to mark the significance of sites and buildings that contribute to the community’s local history and educate the public about that history; and
WHEREAS, the Village has developed rules and procedures and design guidelines for a historic marker program.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, an Illinois home rule municipality, as follows:
SECTION 1
This Board finds and determines that adoption of the attached Historic Marker Program Rules and Procedures and Design Guidelines is in the best interests of the Village and its residents, and improves education of the community about its own history.
SECTION 2
The Historic Marker Program Rules and Procedures and Design Guidelines attached hereto as Exhibits A and B are hereby approved and adopted.
SECTION 3
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed insofar as they conflict herewith.
SECTION 4
This Ordinance shall become and be effective immediately upon its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law. It is ordered that publication of this Ordinance be made by duplicating thereof in pamphlet form said pamphlets to be deposited in the office of the Village Clerk of the Village of Orland Park for general distribution.
