History
The Mayor’s Cup Golf Outing benefitting Open Lands of Orland Park was held at Silver Lake Country Club on September 15, 2015. The 141 golfers enjoyed perfect weather conditions playing 18 holes of bestball golf.
The 2015 Golf Outing introduced several new initiatives. Technology was improved by implementing online registration for golfers and sponsors who appreciated the ease of registration with online transactions totaling $11,390. Also new in 2015 was the addition of SMT Golf. SMT specializes in running on-course games for golf outings. Rather than the traditional longest drive, closest-to-the pin, and the hole-in-one contests, SMT brought fresh excitement by introducing a Super Card that featured a virtual golf game and included four new on-course games.
Overall, the 2015 Mayor’s Cup Golf Outing generated $15,626 in revenues for Open Lands of Orland Park, a 200% increase over 2014.
