RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING VILLAGE MANAGER TO EXECUTE SMART ENERGY FUND AGREEMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE

WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park has established a Smart Energy Fund for monetary grants by the Village to Owners/Lessees of commercial structures within Village to conserve resources by installing high performance, energy efficient and renewable energy systems in said structures; and
WHEREAS, such grants, funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 via the United States Department of Energy’s Energy Efficient and Conservation Block Grant, are limited to a maximum of one-half (1/2) of the approved contract cost of such improvements or $20,000.00, whichever is less; and
WHEREAS, each grant application is subject to review and approval of the Village President and Board of Trustees in their sole discretion and, following any such approval, a grant agreement is to be signed by the applicant/grantee and an authorized representative of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, as follows:
SECTION 1
The Village Manager of the Village of Orland Park, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the Village any grant agreements with the grantees/applicants whose grants have been previously approved by the Village President and Board of Trustees.
SECTION 2
Any such grant agreements signed by the Village Manager on behalf of the Village prior to the adoption of the Resolution are hereby ratified and confirmed.
SECTION 3
Further, the Village Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to sign amendments to such grant agreements on behalf of the Village provided any such amendments are in keeping with the prior Village Board grant approval and do not increase the grant amount approved by the Village Board.
SECTION 4
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adopt...
