ORDINANCE APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THIS VILLAGE AND THE METROPOLITAN WATER RECLAMATION DISTRICT OF GREATER CHICAGO (“MWRDGC”) PROVIDING FOR THE AUTHORITY OF THE VILLAGE TO ADMINISTER THE WATERSHED MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE OF THE MWRDGC AND ADOPTION OF THE SAID WATERSHED MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS BY REFERENCE
Body
WHEREAS, on November 17, 2004, the Illinois General Assembly passed Public Act 093-1049 (hereinafter the “Act”); and
WHEREAS, the Act declares that stormwater management in Cook County shall be under the general supervision of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (“MWRDGC”); and
WHEREAS, the Act specifically authorizes the MWRDGC to prescribe by ordinance reasonable rules and regulations for floodplain and stormwater management and for governing the location, width, course, and release rate of all stormwater runoff channels, streams, and basins in Cook County; and
WHEREAS, on April 21, 2014, the President and Board of Trustees of this Village adopted an Ordinance authorizing execution of an Intergovernmental Agreement with the MWRDGC providing for adoption of the MWRDGC’s Watershed Management Ordinance by reference; and
WHEREAS, the said MWRDGC Watershed Management Ordinance (“WMO”), as amended on July 10, 2014, was further amended by the MWRDGC on February 15, 2018,
April 4, 2019, May 16, 2019, May 7, 2020, April 7, 2022, May 2, 2024, and January 9, 2025 and the amendments are acceptable to the Village; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, as follows:
