Arts Commission Musical Event “Footprints of the Soul - An Artistic Journey” -- Approve
History
The Village Board approved funds in the budget to cover the upfront costs for ‘Footprints of the Soul - An Artistic Journey” at the July 11, 2008 meeting. The performance will be held at the Carl Sandburg Performing Arts Center on Saturday, November 15, 2008. Kestusis Stanciauskas of Blue Baltic Productions will produce and direct the event. He has submitted a Performance Agreement in the amount of $9,000.00 to be paid for the engagement, which covers his fees and performers’ fees. A deposit of $2,000.00 is required prior to October 3, 2008 in order for Mr. Stanciauskas to begin production of the posters. The $7,000.00 balance will be paid at the event.
Financial Impact
The budget for the program is $9,400.00. The Commission hopes to offset the cost of the program by charging $20 per ticket. If all seats are sold, the program would generate $14,000.00.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve the Performance Agreement submitted by Kestutis Stanciauskas of Blue Baltic Productions for “Footprints of the Soul - An Artistic Journey”
And
I move to approve payment of a $2,000.00 deposit prior to October 3, 2008 and the balance of $7,000.00 to be paid at the conclusion of the event.
