Centennial Park Aquatic Center - Lifeguard Staff Clothing & Equipment
History
Requests for proposals were sought for 9 different types of lifeguard uniforms/supply items. Four (4) companies provided proposals. After review of the proposals, staff recommends accepting the lowest quote for each item as follows:
Lifeguard Store for items 1 (female swimsuits), item 3 (board shorts), and item 8 (rescue tubes). (Overall cost to vendor not to exceed $6,000);
and
Kieffer Swim Shop for item 2 (men's swim trunks), item 6 (break-away lanyards), and item 9 (dive ring sets). (Overall cost to vendor not to exceed $1,300);
and
Water Safety Products for item 4 (hip packs), item 5 (whistles), and item 7 (seal easy kits). (Overall cost to vendor not to exceed $2,500).
BACKGROUND INFORMATION PREVIOUSLY PROVIDED AS PART OF THE COMMITTEE PACKETS.
This information was presented to the Recreation Committee who voted unanimously to recommend approval.
Financial Impact
These items have been budgeted for and costs will be charged to account 283-4005-451-6050.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve accepting the proposals for lifeguard staff clothing and equipment from the vendors as follows:
Lifeguard Store for item 1 (female swimsuits), item 3 (board shorts), and item 8 (rescue tubes), at a cost not-to-exceed $6,000;
And
Kieffer Swim Shop for item 2 (men's swim trunks), item 6 (break-away lanyards), and item 9 (dive ring sets) at a cost not-to-exceed $1,300;
And
Water Safety Products for item 4 (hip packs), item 5 (whistles), and item 7 (seal easy kits), at a cost not-to-exceed $2,500.
