Title
131st Street Lift Station Motor #2 Repair - Board Approval
History
Pump #2 at the 131st Street Lift Station experienced a failure necessitating its shutdown. The 60 hp motor and pump assembly were removed and sent to Gasvoda & Associates, Inc., of Calumet City, Illinois (the authorized manufacturer’s representative), for evaluation. They determined that there was a motor winding failure requiring the motor to be rewound. In addition, the shaft required metalizing along with bearing and seal replacement. The cost for this work totaled $5,230. The pump was reinstalled on January 7, 2008, and is in good operating order.
On January 14, 2008, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Works and Engineering Committee and referred to the Board for approval.
