Marcus Theatre addition - Landscape Plan Approval

History

This is a request for approval of a Final Landscape Plan for the revised Marcus Theatre addition (2008-0004).  The Village Board approved a site plan and elevations for Marcus Theatres on February 4, 2008, subject to the following condition:

1)                     That the petitioner submits a Final Landscape Plan within 60 days of final engineering approval that reflects and enhances revised elevations dated 12/04/07 and adds additional landscaping and a minimum seven additional evergreen trees to the west of the proposed addition.

The above condition has been met.  Plant material was arranged to enhance but not block architectural features.  Ten additional evergreens were added to the rear of the building, including five transplanted trees that would have been removed due to the proposed construction.  Impacted ornamental trees were also relocated to the rear of the new building.  Additional shrubbery was added to the rear foundation of the building and along the front planting bed.

Existing plant material to the rear will be preserved, maintaining a landscape buffer yard between the proposed theater and residential uses to the west.  Landscape notes were added to the Final Landscape Plan that state that existing dead plant material on the site will be replaced, and that transplanted plant material that does not survive one year will be replaced.

This is now before the Village Board for consideration.
