Body

BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook County, IL, acting in the exercise of their home rule powers as follows:

SECTION 1

The President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park shall commence a public hearing beginning at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard on September 3rd, 2024 at the Orland Park Village Hall, located at 14700 South Ravinia Avenue, Orland Park, Cook County, Illinois to consider and take testimony on the establishment of a Business District pursuant to the Illinois Business District Act 65 ILCS 5/11-74.3-5 on the property commonly known as the Main Street Triangle and generally bounded on the East by the far side of LaGrange Road, on the South by the far side of 143rd Street and on the Northwest by Southwest Highway, including certain parcels lying outside of those boundaries as depicted on the map, attached as Exhibit A. The legal description is found on attached Exhibit B.

SECTION 2

Notice of the public hearing shall be given by publication at least twice, the first publication to be not more than thirty (30) nor less than ten (10) days prior to the hearing, in a newspaper of general circulation within the Village. Each notice published pursuant to this Section shall include the following:

The time and place of the public hearing;

The boundaries of the proposed business district by legal description and, where possible, by street location;

A notification that all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard at the public hearing;

A description of the business district plan;

The rate of any tax to be imposed pursuant to subsection (10) or (11) of Section 11-74.3-3; and

Such other matters as the Village may deem appropriate.
