Traffic Signal 94th Avenue and Wheeler Drive - Board Approval of Revised Agreement
History
On January 15, 2007, the Board of Trustees approved staff entering into an Agreement with Smith Engineering Consultants (SEC) of New Lenox, Illinois, to conduct a Traffic Impact Study (TIS) of the 94th Avenue Corridor. In addition, the Board also approved accepting a proposal from SEC for professional engineering services and construction oversight for the installation of a traffic signal at 94th Avenue and Wheeler Drive for $39,380.
On June 18, 2007, the Board of Trustees approved the findings of the TIS and construction of the traffic signal. A subsequent meeting with SEC has produced the need to include the timing interconnect of the traffic signals on 151st Street between 94th Avenue and Orlan Brook Drive to more efficiently move traffic on this street. The cost of this engineering is an additional $28,005 which needs Board approval.
SEC has now submitted a Revised Agreement including the initial approved engineering services and construction oversight in the amount of $39,380 and the additional engineering for the timing interconnect in the amount of $28,005 totaling $67,385.
On August 13, 2007, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Works and Engineering Committee and referred to the Board for approval.
Financial Impact
Since the proposed traffic signal at 183rd Street and Wolf Road did not meet warrants, the funds for that project are available in Account #054-0000-499.71-40 and can be transferred to Account #054-0000-499.32-50 in the amount of $67,385.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve the transfer of funds in the amount of $67,385;
And
Approve accepting the revised agreement from Smith Engineering Consultants of New Lenox, Illinois, for the amount of $67,385;
And
Approve authorizing the Village Manager to execute the agreement.
