Masonry Repairs Project at the Village Center (Civic Center) - Change Order
History
At the June 18, 2007, Board Meeting the Board approved the Masonry Repairs Project at the Village Center (Civic Center), at a cost not to exceed $212,770.
After further examination of the masonry repair at the Civic Center, it has been determined that all of the brick, block and capstone at the L-shaped retaining wall at the west elevation along the pond needs to be replaced as well. Therefore, a Change Order in the amount of $87,120 (attached), is needed in order for this additional work to be done.
Since the contractor is already in place and the original work is almost completed, if the proposed Change Order is approved, the new work can begin as soon as the original work is completed.
Financial Impact
This money will come from Account No. 054-0000-499-4310. $300,000 was budgeted for this project. $212,770 has been spent leaving a balance of $87,230. The cost for the work specified in the Change Order is $87,120.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve the Change Order from Eugene Matthews, Inc. at a cost not to exceed $87,120;
and
Authorize the Village Manager to execute the contract.
