AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 3 (PUBLIC WAYS AND PROPERTIES), CHAPTER 2 (STREETS AND PUBLIC WAYS) OF THE ORLAND PARK VILLAGE CODE
Body
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park (the “Village”) have the authority to adopt ordinances and to promulgate rules and regulations that pertain to its government and affairs and protect the public health, safety, and welfare of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village desire to amend Chapter 2, Streets and Public Ways, of Title 3, Public Ways and Properties, of the Village Code of Orland Park in order to add an appropriate definition and scope and to update the standards for address assignments; and
WHEREAS, the Village deems it to be in the best interest of the public to amend Chapter 2, Streets and Public Ways, of Title 3, Public Ways and Properties, of the Village Code of Orland Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, and pursuant to its home rule powers, as follows:
SECTION 1
The above recitals are incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2
Title 3, Chapter 2, Section 3-2-2- of the Village of Orland Park Village Code is hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following:
“3-2-2: ADDRESS NUMBERING SYSTEM:
The primary purpose of establishing the address numbering standards provided for in this chapter is to promote the public health, safety, and welfare of the community by establishing a consistent and clear manner to locate properties and to ensure the efficient delivery of mail, packages, goods, and services to properties located within the Village of Orland Park ("the Village").”
SECTION 3
Title 3, Chapter 2, Section 3-2-2-1 is hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following:
“3-2-2-1: SCOPE:
This chapter shall be applicable to the assignment of all new addr...
