IBEW and IUOE Collective Bargaining Agreement Amendment
History
As a result of negotiations that were entered into due to the $1.3 million operating budget shortfall tentative agreements were reached with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 134 and the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), Local 399 regarding amendments to their respective collective bargaining agreements. The tentative agreements are attached, in summary the terms include:
Each employee in the bargaining unit agrees to either accept five (5) unpaid furlough days in lieu of five (5) paid working days in 2010 or to purchase six (6) additional vacation days for use in 2010.
Each employee in the bargaining unit shall not receive the hourly rate increase originally scheduled for May 1, 2010 until January 1, 2011.
The Village agrees not to lay off any employee in the respective bargaining unit from the date of the execution of the Amendment to and including December 31, 2010.
Financial Impact
Additional cost savings included in the proposed FY2010 budget.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve the amendment to the collective bargaining agreement between the Village of Orland Park and IBEW Local 134 and approve the Amendment to the collective bargaining agreement between the Village of Orland Park and IUOE, Local 399.
