AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 2, CHAPTER 9, SECTIONS 2-9-3, 2-9-4 AND 2-9-8 OF THE VILLAGE CODE (JOINT EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SYSTEM BOARD) TITLE 2, CHAPTER 11 (TELECOMMUNICATIONS ADVISORY BOARD) AND CHAPTER 18 (COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMISSION) OF THE ORLAND PARK MUNICIPAL CODE AND DISCONTINUING THE DEVELOPMENT AWARDS COMMITTEE AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD MEDIATION TASK FORCE

WHEREAS, the Village of Orland Park is authorized by the Illinois Municipal Code to adopt codes and regulations by reference to 65 ILCS 5/1-3-2; and

WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village have determined that the composition of the Joint Emergency Telephone System Board should be revised by reducing the number of Board Members from seven (7) to five (5) through the elimination of the representation on the Board of the Orland Fire Protection District and reducing the number of representatives on the Board from Orland Hills from two (2) to one (1).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, an Illinois home rule municipality, as follows:

SECTION 1

Title 2, Chapter 9, Sections 2-9-3 and 2-9-4 of the Village Code of the Village of Orland Park are hereby amended to provide as follows:

“2-9-3: COMPOSITION OF BOARD:

The Joint Emergency Telephone System Board of Orland Park and Orland Hills, Illinois, shall consist of five (5) members, appointed on the basis of their experience and ability. The members of the Joint Emergency Telephone System Board of Orland Park and Orland Hills, Illinois, shall serve without compensation, but shall be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses.

2-9-4: PUBLIC SAFETY ANSWERING POINT:

1. Four (4) members of the Joint Emergency Telephone System Board of Orland Park and Orland Hills shall be representatives of the Village of Orland Park, which will be the public safety answering point in the enhanced 911 system implemented in the Village of Orland Park.
