Title

Two-way stop signs at Emerson Drive and 163rd Street

History

A petition was received from residents of the Georgetown Subdivision requesting the installation of stop signs on Emerson Drive between 161st and 163rd Street. The request is being made to help control the traffic speed on Emerson.  The residents are concerned with vehicles exceeding the speed limit and posing a danger to pedestrians and children in the area.

The Residential Stop Control Warrant Worksheet was completed.  Emerson Drive at 163rd Street did exceed the minimum points required to warrant stop signs at the intersection.  After much discussion the board moved to recommend for approval to the Public Safety Committee the installation of stop signs at this intersection making this a two way.

On December 8, 2008, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Safety Committee and referred to the Board for Approval.
