Title

ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING DONATION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY (POLICE VEHICLE) OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK, ILLINOIS, TO THE ORLAND FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT

Body

WHEREAS, at least a simple majority of the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois have determined that it is no longer necessary or useful for the Village of Orland Park to retain ownership of the personal property (police vehicle -paddy wagon) described below; and

WHEREAS, at least a simple majority of the Corporate Authorities have therefore decided that continued ownership of the police vehicle described below is not in the best interests of the Village of Orland Park; and

WHEREAS, the Public Works vehicle listed below is Village-owned property that has exhausted its usable life and is obsolete; and

WHEREAS, the Public Works vehicle listed below has only scrap value; and

WHEREAS, the Orland Fire Protection District has need for this vehicle to train and practice various vehicle occupant extrication, stabilization and patient care techniques.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Illinois, as follows:

SECTION 1

The above recitals are hereby incorporated into this section as fully as if they were set forth herein in their entirety.

SECTION 2

Pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, Illinois Compiled Statutes, 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4, the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park find that the item of personal property listed on EXHIBIT A (Public Works vehicle) now owned by the Village of Orland Park, Illinois, is no longer necessary or useful to the Village and its best interests and the interests of the residents of the Orland Fire Protection District will be best served by the donation of such police vehicle to the Orland Fire Protection District for training and practice as described above.
