Title
Streetlight Relocation at 156th Street and LaGrange Road - Board Approval of Proposal/Contract
History
As part of the 156th Street extension between LaGrange Road and Ravinia Avenue, some incidental work on the streetlights needs to be performed on both the east and west sides of LaGrange Road. Lowe’s will be responsible for the temporary streetlights on the east side of LaGrange Road as part of their development. The two poles on the west side of LaGrange Road will need to be relocated by the Village to allow for the new road extension to Ravinia Avenue.
Staff has contacted the electrical contractor (Home Towne Electric, Inc. of Lake Villa, Illinois) who will be doing the work for Lowe’s and who is currently working on the 159th Street and LaGrange Road project. To lessen the costs of mobilization, staff has requested a cost from Home Towne Electric to relocate the two poles that are the responsibility of the Village. Home Towne Electric, Inc. has submitted a proposal with itemized costs totaling $11,755 for the relocation work.
On September 8, 2008, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Works and Engineering Committee and referred to the Board for approval.
Financial Impact
The 2007/2008 Fiscal Year Capital Improvement Budget has a Board approved line item (054-0000-499.71-25) for the 156th Street Road Extension Project to cover the costs of this work.
