RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSAL FROM CHRISTOPHER B. BURKE ENGINEERING (151ST STREET AT WEST AVENUE ROUNDABOUT)

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Village’s Transportation Plan has identified the intersection of 151st Street at West Avenue as a potential location for a roundabout, said intersection currently operating as a four-way stop; and

 

WHEREAS, the Southwest Conference of Mayors has approved this roundabout for federal Surface Transportation Program funding under which eighty percent (80%) of the roundabout construction cost, including engineering, will be reimbursed to the Village from federal funds and twenty percent (20%) of said costs will be paid from Village funds; and

 

WHEREAS, CHRISTOPHER B. BURKE ENGINEERING, LTD. has submitted a proposal for Phase II engineering services for the roundabout construction project of not to exceed NINETY-NINE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED SEVENTY-TWO AND 90/100 DOLLARS ($99,972.90); and

 

WHEREAS, the Village will be reimbursed in the amount of up to $79,978.32 from federal funds available through the Surface Transportation Program, and the Village has available sufficient funds of up to $19,994.58 for the Village’s portion of the said Phase II engineering costs.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, that the proposal of CHRISTOPHER G. BURKE ENGINEERING, LTD. for Phase II engineering services for the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of 151st Street and West Avenue in the Village for an amount not to exceed $99,972.90 be accepted.
