Title
Centennial Park Aquatic Center - Fees
History
Before the start of the 2008 season, staff has assessed the structure of daily entrance and membership fees and comparing our facility to other public aquatic centers in the area.
This information was presented at the January 8, 2008 Recreation Advisory Board meeting with the following recommendations:
1. Daily Rates - It appears that especially during evening hours, there is an inordinate number of non-resident admissions, which causes crowding at the facility. The Recreation Advisory Board voted unanimously to keep the non-resident daily rate consistent throughout the day and eliminate the non-resident half-price daily rate after 5:00 p.m. (Two members proposed that daily rate should also be increased).
2. Memberships - The Recreation Advisory Board voted unanimously to increase the pool membership rates and to also offer a non-resident senior membership. To be consistent with the pool, staff recommends implementing a non-resident senior rate at the Sportsplex as well.
3. Family Membership - The Advisory Board voted unanimously to redefine a family membership as presented by staff. (one Advisory Board member recommended increasing the number of family members that are included in the family membership - up from 5)
4. Child Care Provider - The Recreation Advisory Board voted unanimously to offer a child care provider pass in conjuction with a resident family membership.
This information was presented at the Recreation Committee meeting. The Committee requested this information be brought forward to the Village Board for further discussion.
Please review the attached information and recommendations for your consideration.
