RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK POLICY TO UTILIZE LOW VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUND (VOC) PAINTS

Body

WHEREAS, low VOC paints contain reduced levels of volatile organic compounds which are smog-producing pollutants that contribute to unhealthy air; and,

 

WHEREAS, the benefits of using Low-VOC paints include lower levels of ozone pollution, performance equal to that of conventional paints, reduced incidents of eye and respiratory irritation from fumes, better indoor and outdoor air quality; and,

 

WHEREAS, utilizing Low-VOC paints requires no new tools or equipment and can be used for indoor and outdoor applications; and,

 

WHEREAS, low VOC paints are readily available and do not represent additional costs.

 

Now, Therefore, Be it Resolved by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, that low VOC paints be utilized in constructing and maintaining Village properties.
