A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT PLANNING STAFF ASSISTANCE SERVICES DELIVERED BY THE CHICAGO METROPOLITAN AGENCY FOR PLANNING (CMAP), IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH A WATER CONSERVATION STRATEGIC PLAN AND ORDINANCE FOR THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK.
Body
Whereas, the Village of Orland Park, Illinois (“the Village”) has applied for staff assistance services through the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning’s (“CMAP”) Local Technical Assistance (“LTA”) program for a Water Conservation Strategic Plan and Ordinance; and

Whereas, the Village’s request for such assistance has been recommended by CMAP as a priority project; and

Whereas, CMAP has adopted the GO TO 2040 Plan as the long-range regional comprehensive plan for the seven-county Chicago region; and Water 2050 as the regional water supply/demand plan for the northeastern Illinois region, and is providing staff assistance as a means of advancing the plans’ implementation; and

Whereas, the Village and CMAP have agreed on the general contents of a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) that will guide staff assistance services to be provided by CMAP; and

Whereas, the Village adopted the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Municipal Action Plan (“ECOMAP”) in September 2009 to guide the Village’s green initiatives, the Smart Living and Smart Village programs, which includes water use conservation and efficiency planning in Task 15;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, as follows:


SECTION 1

The Village Board supports this project to develop a Water Conservation Strategic Plan and Ordinance for the community.


SECTION 2

The Village Board accepts the offer of staff assistance services by CMAP and recognizes that these services are provided for the purpose of advancing the implementation of GO TO 2040 and Water 2050.
