131st Street Lift Station Driveway Replacement - Proposal
History
There is a Board approved budget line item in the amount of $6,000.00 for the replacement of the failing and deteriorated driveway at the 131st Street Lift Station (10000 Creek Road). The following proposals were obtained for a complete driveway replacement from: Homer Asphalt Co. of Orland Park, Illinois, $6,139.60 - Lemont Paving Company of Lemont, Illinois, $6,475.00 - Plotke Asphalt Inc. of Rockdale, Illinois, $6,193.00.
Due to significant asphalt price increases since budgeting last year, the proposals received for this project were over budget. However, there are sufficient funds within the line item to cover this cost. Therefore, it is recommended that the proposal (copy attached) from Homer Asphalt Co. of Orland Park, Illinois, be accepted for an amount not to exceed $6,139.60.
PLEASE SAVE ATTACHMENTS. THE INFORMATION ATTACHED WILL NOT BE DUPLICATED FOR THE AUGUST 18, 2008, BOARD MEETING.
A NEW COVER SHEET WILL BE PROVIDED WITH THE APPROPRIATE BOARD MOTION.
Financial Impact
Account #031-6003-433.43-10 contains a Board approved line item for this work. There are sufficient funds within the line item to cover the $139.60 cost overrun.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to recommend to the Board of Trustees to approve accepting the proposal from Homer Asphalt Co. of Orland Park, Illinois, for the driveway replacement at the 131st Street Lift Station for an amount not to exceed $6,139.60;
And
Recommend to the Board of Trustees to approve authorizing the Village Manager to execute the proposal/contract.
