Title

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7, CHAPTER 4, SECTION 9 OF THE ORLAND PARK MUNICIPAL CODE (LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATION)

 

BODY

WHEREAS, Section 9 of Title 7 Chapter 42 the Village Code sets forth the liquor license application requirements; and

 

WHEREAS, paragraph 11 of the list of applications requirements needs to be clarified and updated.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, as follows:

 

SECTION 1

 

Title 7, Chapter 4, Section 9, paragraph 11 is hereby amended by adding the following sentences thereto:

 

“In addition, every application for a license, whether new or renewal, shall be accompanied by a copy of the applicant’s policy of dram shop insurance written by a responsible insurance company authorized and licensed to do business in this state insuring such applicant against liability as required under ILCS Ch. 235, Act. 5, § 6-21, as amended from time to time. The applicant shall keep the policy of insurance in full force and effect during the term of the license (and any renewals), or shall provide a suitable substitute policy. Each such policy shall contain a provision that it cannot be cancelled without ten days’ prior written notice to the Local Liquor Control Commissioner of the Village. Each such policy shall provide coverage in the minimum amount of $1,000,000, or such higher amounts as may be required by law.”

 

SECTION 2

 

All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions are hereby repealed insofar as they conflict herewith.

 

SECTION 3

 

This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
