Pneumatic Curb Repair - Bid Award Extension
History
The Public Works Department initiated the Pneumatic Curb Repair Program five years ago. This program has been very beneficial in helping repair broken section of curb without the need to tear out and replace the entire curb. Staff has been extremely pleased with the work and would like to continue the program.
Robert H. Ward & Assoc., Inc. of South Chicago Heights, Illinois, has contacted Public Works and informed us that they will hold their current pricing through September 1, 2008. Therefore, staff would like to extend the bid award for Pneumatic Curb Repairs for the 2007/2008 Budget Year to Robert H. Ward & Assoc., Inc.
On January 14, 2008, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Works and Engineering Committee and referred to the Board for approval.

Financial Impact
The 2007/2008 Fiscal Year Budget has a Board approved Line Item 010-5002-431.43-30 in the amount of $60,000 for Pneumatic Curb Repairs.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve extending the bid award for Pneumatic Curb Repair to Robert H. Ward & Assoc., Inc. of South Chicago Heights, Illinois, for an amount not to exceed $21.65 per/foot and a total cost not to exceed $60,000 for fiscal year 2007/2008.
