Title
88th Avenue Roadway Improvements - IDOT Contract 63488
History
In June 2010, The Village Board approved entering into an agreement with the State of Illinois Department of Transportation for the reconstruction and resurfacing of 88th Avenue from 159th Street to 171st Street. As part of the agreement, $180,000 of State provided Emergency Repair Program (ERP) funds were allocated specifically for construction costs. Lower than expected bids and final construction costs resulted in the ERP eligible expenditure totaling $174,523.50. To maximize the full value of the ERP funding, a redistribution of the allocation is required. Local Agency Amendment #1 for Federal Participation amends the division of cost for the ERP funds to $170,000 for construction and $10,000 for construction engineering.
On May 21, 2012, this item was reviewed and approved by the Public Works and Engineering Committee and referred to the Board for approval.
Financial Impact
The Village’s expenditure for this project will be reduced by $5,476.50 ($180,000 minus $174,523.50).
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve the Illinois Department of Transportation Local Agency Amendment #1 for Federal Participation for the reconstruction of 88th Avenue from 159th Street to 171st Street and authorize the Mayor and Village Clerk to execute said amendment.
