Forensic evidence drying cabinet - purchase approval
History
The old Police facility was equipped with an updraft evidence drying system. This was installed by an outside hearing and air-conditioner vendor. This unit was hard installed and could not be moved to the new Police building. In addition this unit did not provide for a safe and environmentally correct discharge of noxious odors. This unit provided drying of items that were wet from blood or other body fluids, and to dry bulk marijuana seized by the Police Department.
I am proposing we purchase the following items from Sirchie Fingerprint Laboratories Inc. DrySafe forensic Evidence Drying Cabinet with automatic controller and waste pump. Part # ACEVD30A, and start-up kit # ACEVD34. For a total cost of $ 5295.00 to include shipping.
Financial Impact
The funds for this proposal are budgeted under line item 010-7002-412.60-45 in an amount not to exceed $5,295.00.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to recommend to the Board to approve the purchase of one (1) Dry Safe Forensic Drying Cabinet and start-up kit from Sirche Fingerprint Laboratories Inc., 100 Hunter Place, Youngsville North Carolina, at a cost not to exceed $ 5,295.00.
