St. Michaels Parish Addition - Landscape Plan Approval
History
This is a request for landscape plan approval for the St. Michael’s church parish addition and parking lot renovation project. The Village Board approved a parish addition project for St. Michaels Church at 14327 Highland Avenue in November of 2007, subject to the following landscape related condition:
That the Petitioner submit a detailed landscape plan for separate review and approval that addresses tree mitigation, foundation landscaping, parking lot landscaping and dumpster screening.
The petitioner has submitted a landscape plan per the above condition. The landscape plan shows the removal of 8 trees for the parish expansion that have been mitigated on the landscape plan in front of the building and within the parking lot. Parking lot islands have been added per the Board approved plan and exceed Code requirements of one tree and two shrubs per island.
Foundation landscaping is being shown in front of the parish expansion that highlights the architecture. Extensive screening, including the use of an existing crabapple, is proposed around the dumpster enclosure. Overall, the proposed landscape plan meets both the intent of the Board condition of approval and current Village Land Development Codes.

I move to approve the Landscape Plan titled, ‘St. Michael Parish Center,’, prepared by Hitchcock Design Group, project number 06-0395-012-01-08, dated 12-21-07, most recent revision, 06-06-08, sheets TR1, LA1 and LA2, with no conditions.
