AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE COMPENSATION AND REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN ELECTED OFFICIALS OF THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK, COOK AND WILL COUNTIES, ILLINOIS

Body
WHEREAS, Section 3.1-50-10 of the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/3.1-50-10) provides that the corporate authorities of a municipality may, by ordinance, fix the salaries of all municipal officers who hold elective office for a definite term, provided that said salaries may be neither increased nor diminished during the officer’s term and such salaries will be fixed at least 180 days before the beginning of the terms of the officers whose compensation is to be fixed.

NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Orland Park, Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, as follows:

SECTION 1

Each Village Trustee of the Village of Orland Park elected in the year 2013 and thereafter shall receive the sum of $13,629.00 per year as compensation for service as Village Trustee commencing in May, 2013 or thereafter. Said compensation shall be payable in monthly installments.

SECTION 2

The Village Clerk of the Village of Orland Park shall receive the sum of $27,258.00 per year as compensation for service as Village Clerk, beginning on the first day of the Village Clerk’s term of office commencing in May, 2013 and thereafter. Said compensation shall be payable in monthly installments.

SECTION 3

The Village Clerk and each Village Trustee may be reimbursed for any expenses incurred by them in attending meetings of the Board of Trustees or in otherwise performing the duties of the offices they hold.

SECTION 4

The rates of compensation established by this Ordinance shall be effective at the time of commencement of the term of office of each officer herein, and shall be payable commencing on the first day of the immediately succeeding month, and shall apply only to those persons whose respective terms of office commenced by virtue of their election or re-election after...
