History
The current village beverage contract is due to expire on January 31, 2011. A Request for proposals was released and advertised on November 2, 2010. The package included a comprehensive listing of Village requirements including the specifications for provisions at all of the Village concession areas. Proposals were opened on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 with two companies providing proposals. The Village’s current vendor, Dr. Pepper/7-UP Bottling Company, and Pepsi Beverages Company responded.

The current beverage supplier, Dr. Pepper/7-UP Bottling Company of Chicago, has been providing this service and product since 1999. They have provided excellent customer service in the areas of machine repair, restocking of product and day to day handling of our account. They have also provided special service during special events of the Village including the Taste of Orland Park. The product selection meets all requirements in the RFP.

Pepsi Beverages also responded with good product selection and competitive pricing, however they declined to provide any marketing, sponsorship or promotional incentives in their proposal. The representative requested volume information which was provided, however Pepsi was unable to provide the additional incentives at this time. Pepsi also did not provide a quote for the Concessionaire’s post-mix for fountain drinks.

Attached (Exhibit A) you will find a listing of the financial information in the RFP.

Sponsorship amounts are annual and will be paid on February 1st of every year for the next 5 years. The Sponsorship amount, per case rebate and percent of commission will be provided as stated above for each of the five years, unless 30 days written notice is given prior to the annual anniversary date of the executed contract.
