Bulk Calcined Clay Infield Mix Price Quote
History
We received four (4) quotes for bulk Calcined Clay Infield Mix. Calcined Clay is a clay based soil conditioner used in the infields of all our sand clay baseball fields to absorb moisture. This helps keep the playing fields in condition for safe ball play. We have not added bulk Calcined Clay in approximately 5 years and the surface needs to be replenished. During rainy times bags are added in specific areas but this bulk will be added to the entire infield. This year we will purchase enough to complete Centennial Park and John Humphrey Complex. Two (2) to Three (3) loads may be needed, 18 to 22 tons a load. The quotes are as follows:

Reinders, Inc. $306.79 ton
Conserv FS $323.00 ton
Shades of Green Turf Supply $340.00 ton
On June 15, 2015, this item was reviewed by the Parks & Recreation Committee, recommended for approval, and referred to the Village Board of Trustees for consideration.
Financial Impact
The funds will come from the Parks Stone and Sand Account 283-4003-462300, $46,000.00 budgeted.
Recommended Action/Motion
I move to approve waiving the bid process;
And
Approve the amount of $265.00 per ton for Bulk Calcined Clay from Sportsfields Inc.
