Employee Anniversary Awards -- Approve
History
In light of the 15-month budget and in anticipation of continuing to use Motivational Excellence for the 2009 program as well as exploring opportunities to provide employees with the award recognition in a timely manner, this motion takes into consideration the award years of 2008 and 2009.
Each year the village has presented employees who have reached employment milestones with an anniversary award at our annual holiday luncheon. Motivational Excellence has been the vendor used by the village for the past few years as the gift provider. We have found Motivational Excellence has provided quality awards and service.
During the 2008 calendar year a total of 45 employees will be receiving milestone anniversary awards on December 19, 2008 during the annual holiday luncheon. Milestones achieved during 2008 and will be celebrated for:
17 Employees with 10 years of service milestone
10 Employees with 15 years of service milestone
14 Employees with 20 years of service milestone
1 Employee with 25 years of service milestone
3 Employees with 30 years of service milestone
Total cost for 2008 is $5,730.
For the 2009 calendar year a total of 60 employees will be receiving milestone anniversary awards on their actual anniversary date, which celebrates their milestone achievement in a timely manner. Milestones to be achieved during 2009 and will be celebrated for:
23 Employees with 10 years of service milestone
22 Employees with 15 years of service milestone
7 Employees with 20 years of service milestone
5 Employees with 25 years of service milestone
1 Employees with 30 years of service milestone
2 Employees with 35 years of service milestone
Total cost for 2009 is $7,325.
Financial Impact
Expected 2008/2009 Motivation Excellence program cost for recognizing 105 employees is $13,055. Adequate funds have been included in the FY09 budget to support this expenditure.
