Title/Name/Summary

Prohibit Video Gaming Within the Corporate Limits of the Village of Orland Park - Ordinance

History

After several public meetings, extensive research and interaction with the Orland Park community, on November 17, 2009 the Village Board passed ordinance 4529 prohibiting video gaming within the Village of Orland Park.

Eight years later, the same matter is once again being brought before the Board in an effort to overturn the standing ordinance and allow for video gaming within the Village of Orland Park.

The residents of Orland Park, who are to be directly impacted by such a decision, should be given direct access to deciding whether or not video gaming should be brought into their community.

I am proposing an ordinance providing for the submission to the electors of the Village of Orland Park the question of whether residents of Orland Park would be in favor of or against the permitting of video gaming within Village limits.

I move to pass Ordinance__________________, entitled:  AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE ELECTORS OF THE VILLAGE OF ORLAND PARK THE QUESTION OF WHETHER THE VILLAGE SHOULD PROHIBIT VIDEO GAMING WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE

Recommended Action/Motion

I move to Table this Ordinance.
